X Theme not updating to latest version? 5.2.2

I’m not able to update the theme completely…I see that I have the new user interface, but say if I try to add some content to a page like a headline, it doesn’t show up when I input text and basically doesn’t work…I was told to download the theme directly again and reupload via ftp, but want to make sure that’s not gonna mess anything up by replacing the files with updated ones…here are some images I pulled from my dashboard…current version…no update notifications…etc…
edit: I guess I can only insert one image…
PLEASE HELP I just need one simple change to my site and have been having to spend hours trying to figure out what I need to do.

also, I’ve disable all caching plugins…cleared browser cache…disabled anti-spam plugins…only plugins are cornerstone and rev. slider…

Any ideas on the issue?

Hi, I’m having this exact same issue. This is happening on a multi-site WP install.

Cornerstone is at 2.1.3.

X is stuck at 5.1.1, even though the dashboard says that version 5.2.2 is available…

Hello There,

Since you are using multi site WP install, all your updates can be done by going to My Sites > Network Admin > Updates. You might not be seeing update notifications for X theme and if this happens, you will need to update X theme manually. You can download the latest version from your dashboard (https://theme.co/apex/dashboard). If you are not sure how to update the theme manually, please check out this knowledge base:
https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62

Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem. My current cornerstone version is 4.4.2. I am trying to update to 5.2.2

I tried manually installing the cornerstone plugin and I got the message:

Destination folder already exists. /nas/content/live/ztlschoudary/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/

Plugin install failed.

Please advise.

Hi,

You can try updating it manually using FTP.

Manual Plugin Update Via FTP

This uses Cornerstone as an example, but the process can be applied to any plugin.

  • Unzip cornerstone.zip on your computer.
  • Rename the cornerstone folder to cornerstone-updating.
  • Connect to your server via FTP and navigate to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  • Drag and drop the cornerstone-updating folder into your plugins directory.
  • Upon completion, rename the previous cornerstone folder to cornerstone-previous.
  • Rename cornerstone-updating to cornerstone. Your site will now be at the latest version.
  • Delete the cornerstone-previous folder.
  • Visit the WordPress dashboard at least once to ensure any migration logic can run (this happens behind the scenes).

For more information please see Manual Update section on the link below.

Hope that helps

This process is too complicated for me. I usually do not mess with my ftp settings.

Any way you could do this for me if I provide login credentials?

I had same problem.Went to themes in Appearance and updated from there.

@Dirk_Norris … Glad you were able to update it

@sanachoudary

Are you referring to Cornerstone or X theme ? Because the latest version of Cornerstone is v2.1.3. If you want to update Cornerstone and if the update process won’t work, simply disable the Cornerstone plugin and then delete it from your Plugins section. Then head over to X -> Overview section and wait for few seconds to automatically install the latest version.

Thanks!
