X Theme corrupted after moving to a new server...reinstallation?

Hi there – I recently moved a site from my development server to the client’s in-house server for final prep before making it public. After moving, the X Theme seems a bit scrambled. It is fine on the front end, but I am getting deprecated errors on the backend and the X Theme dashboard is messed up. I also need to update it to the latest version.

We have done some customisation and have the X Child Theme activated.

What is the recommended way to fix the X theme errors and update to the latest version, without losing anything?

Thanks for your help!

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, Please clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after migration so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Another thing, please install a WP-ServerInfo plugin, have your current PHP and MYSQL version, compare it with the older server. Make it the same or at least higher than PHP and MYSQL version 5.6. Contact your hosting support on how you can upgrade PHP and MYSQL.

Cheers!

Thanks so much for your quick reply and for the tips. I installed that plugin and compared the two – definite differences but I am not sure which of those differences may be causing the issues. Here is what I have:

Any suggestions?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi There @keenimedia

First of all, you need to make sure that you have migrated to the new server correctly. Please follow our guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-content-builder-migration/126).

With regard to your new server, there are couple of points that I have noted.

1.PHP version: Try switching to another PHP version like PHP 7.1.x, 7.0.x or 5.6.x as PHP 7.2.x is the latest version and it may have incompatibility issues.
2.PHP memory limit is set to 256MiB on the new server. Try following our guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-increasing-php-memory-limit/16935) and see if you can increase it.

Also check PHP max script execution time and increase it accordingly by following this guide (https://www.simplified.guide/php/increase-max-execution-time).

Hope that helps.

Thank you! Will work through those things and let you know the results.

Much appreciated.

You are most welcome.
