WPBakery plugin update problem after separate license install

When attempting to update the WPBakery Page Builder plugin I get the following message: Update Failed: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.

So I purchased a separate licensed copy on March 19th. Then did an uninstall of the plugin that came with THEMECO and then installed the separate licensed version.

Once again today (June 4, 2019) I can’t do an update on the WPBakery plugin.

I received the following message from support@WPBakery.com: “If the theme is using any related code to block the auto-updates, then you can get in touch with the theme author and get rid of it from the theme so that there is no such issue in future.”

Please advise.

Hi There @RayBach

Thanks for writing in! We always recommends to use the Visual Composer version that comes with X/Pro themes because it has been tested for compatibility. You can read more information from the following link (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/extension-visual-composer/76).

If you still want to use your standalone license, could you please try following this post (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpbakery-license-tab/48479/2?u=mldarshana).

Thanks!
