Wordpress URL change now theme x & cornerstone not working

Hello,

My website theme x and cornerstone no longer work. Please see link below:
http://79.170.40.39/oadbyplastics.co.uk/website2/

I believe this issue arose when i was making the website live from the above website2 URL www.cladright.co.uk

So i changed the website URL in wordpress to cladright.co.uk which i wasn’t supposed to do and then i couldn’t log back into the website. Therefore i had to access the database via the hosting provider and change the setting back to website2 URL to then have access to wordpress admin area again.

Since this has happened my contact page is not accessible and i can no longer work with cornerstone. Please can you resolve this for me

Thank you so much in advance

Dwayne

Hi Dwayne,

Thank you for writing in, changing the WordPress Address and Site Address from the dashboard (back-end) is not enough to migrate a site with Cornerstone. Besides of the issue that you can’t access some of your pages anymore, you’re going to lose the serialize data for Cornerstone, which makes your pages not editable in Cornerstone anymore.

I advice that you contact your hosting, and ask for help on how you can restore your site (files and database) on the date just before you attempt to migrate your site.

And then when you are ready to redo the migration process, please follow the guide provided here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-migration/126

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Hello,

Thank you for the detailed reply.

I have been in contact with my hosting and we have successful restored the files and database to a week before this mistake happened. I didn’t mean to migrate my site and it doesn’t need to be migrated it was just an initial mistake of re-naming the WordPress address and site address.

Unfortunately, even though the the restore has been successful, cornerstone is still not working.
I am quite new to this, hence why I am utilising theme x / cornerstone for three websites.

Thank you so much for the guidance and i hope we can get this resolved.

It is very much appreciated.

Regards,
Dwayne

Hi Dwayne,

Sorry if I kind of emphasizing it as migration process but its really about changing your dev domain (http://79.170.40.39/oadbyplastics.co.uk/website2/) to live domain (www.cladright.co.uk) properly.

Can you try re-saving your permalinks, to do this navigate to Settings > Permalinks and just save it without changes.

Cheers!
