why are the scrollbars so darn thin? not only are they hard to grab and scroll using a mouse, something is wrong with the mouse detection on them because i can have my mouse pointer directly on them and they still won’t scroll and i end up selecting text when i drag my mouse instead of scrolling down?

Thanks for asking. 
We have already taken this as a feature enhancement request and have added the same to issue tracker. We cannot give you ETA, but rest assured this will be taken into consideration. As for the second question, can you please share a screencast as that will give us an idea of problem you are facing?
Also please make sure that you are full updated and have comatible version of plugins runing on website.
