When I Create New Blog Post -- no more 'Edit with Cornerstone'

Hi,

I need help. I’m trying to edit a blog post but all I see is the option for ‘visual’ or ‘text’ edits - I usually use Cornerstone.

I haven’t made any updates to my account so I’m wondering if there’s something you can help me with to get this control back.

Thanks,
Emily

Hi @CultiVitae,

Thanks for writing in.

You could check the link below for the new settings in PRO and Cornerstone.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

That worked!! Thank you!!

Actually, now that I have cornerstone up, I’m getting this error message when I click ‘Edit with Cornerstone’

The preview could not load due to the iframe response being incomplete. This is most often related to a plugin conflict, or customizations introducing a PHP error.

Hi Emily,

Please try to clear your browser and site’s cache then try to load the pages in Cornerstone again.

Let us know how it goes.

Same issue.

Hi @CultiVitae,

In that case, would you mind providing your admin login credentials in a secure note?

For the meantime, please check for the following first:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. Clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.

  7. Contact your host to increase your allocated memory or do it yourself by adding this code in your wp-config.php

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

Thanks.

Hi I replied above with password to secure note

Hi CultiVitae,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to do the tests above without the fear that it might cause some issues on your live website. I strongly suggest that you contact your hosting service provider and ask them to have a complete backup of the site or move your website to a staging server so that your live site will be safe.

Also there are points in my colleagues steps that are not tech related and you do need to follow up:

1.Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
2. Contact your host to increase your allocated memory. It should be 512. I installed the WP Server Info plugin which you can check from WordPress Dashboard > WP ServerInfo and it shows the memory limit for your server is 256.

Thank you.
