After doing a page showing category posts without warning an error issue occurred where post grid and post masonry grid showed a blank page. Took an hour or so of disabling plugins, cache flushing and so on to track down the issue but turns out its in the WPB PB x integration menu. Unchecking Remove Native Elements fixed it.

Yes, there some elements and functionality that were removed in VC when integrated with X.
If you want to use it independently please uncheck all.
