Video not autoplaying in Chrome

Hi There

Our client has noticed that the homepage “play” button launches a movie that does not autoplay in Chrome - http://pagetiger.staging.wpengine.com.

Works on every other browser. Even works when you enter the URL to the video directly (http://pagetiger.staging.wpengine.com/home-page-video)

Hi there,

I checked the website and found out this error in the Chrome Browser Console:

Not sure why this is happening, but I guess this might be a problem of the old version usage of the theme. Kindly create a complete backup of your website and update your theme to the latest version:

Hi Chris, I’ve updated to latest theme. Everything is a bit messed up at the moment but I know that happens when you update to X v5 (http://pagetiger.staging.wpengine.com/). However the same issue still remains with the video not autoplaying on Chrome. Please can you take a look

I see your using a third party lightbox plugin. Regretfully, we do not have support for third party plugins. Also some browsers like Chrome and Edge does not support the operation used in your lightbox plugin.

Please follow this setup instead https://www.themepunch.com/faq/lightbox-type-content-go-fullscreen-feature/. I tested that in my dev site and it works.
