V2 Elements not searchable?

I have an issue with content not being found by the search function. I did some troubleshooting and found that content that was in V2 elements was not found by the internal Wordpress search but the same content in a Classic Element was found.

Is this a bug? And is there anyway around it other than replacing all existing V2 elements with Classic Element?

Thanks for writing in.

V2 element’s raw code doesn’t have visible texts that search can find, it’s only become visible when it’s rendered on the live page. So the search is basically just scanning the shortcode version of the page and not the output. It’s the same issue with SEO plugins that can’t find some texts and I can say that it maybe a bug so I’ll add this to our issue tracker.

But page title should be searchable.

I tried this on my end and no luck, this looks like need a custom WP Query for a search to include shortcode outputs. I’ll add this to our issue tracker, but for now, please use classic elements.

Thanks for confirming.

In case anyone else is having this issue and doesn’t want to revert to classic elements, I installed the Relevanssi plugin as it can index the shortcode content.
