Is it possible to have both the Modern Events calendar and have a separate News post page shown here in your education demo – http://demo.theme.co/education/news-and-events/? If so, Can you tell me how I would set that up to work independently of each other?

Thanks for writing in! To resolve your issue, you will have to create two pages, Events and News and Events page. You will make use the Events page for your Modern Events Calendar. And then for the second page News and Event, you will have to assign this as your “Posts Page”. You can do that by going to Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays > Posts Page. Simply select the page and you are all set.
