URGENT- Styles and legacy not loaded

Hi, we’re trying to update a website from a very ancient version of X themeto the latest, and according to information, that should work. Yet I see that -after finally getting VC to work and work around the 500 errors that Cornerstone is generating in the old theme- no styles are loaded. I did replace the style.css with the old one. The VC elements are working, but background, menu styling, etc aren’t visible. I did check the ‘enable legacy’ option.

I purchased the latest X theme, updated WP, checked conflicting plugins and entered the purchase code, etc.

Yes, please provide us with your admin account so we can take a closer look.

For the meanwhile, please try testing a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

I tried disabling all TP plugins but still the same. Looks like the styes are not loaded. Since there are custom templates used, I figured the new X theme would need that so i copied them to the new theme. Didn’t work.

Under construction is active so you can have a go.

Thanks for the details.

I was able to login and check your site and the version of X and its bundled plugins of your site are quite obsolete which might be causing the issue.

Since this is the case, It would be best to setup a staging site and do the update from there so that the live site will not be affected in case there will be any issues with the update and you will be able to do some testing.

In case you are not certain how to proceed, you might want to check with your web host and ask them if they can help you with the staging site.

Once you have the staging site up, you can start working on the updates of your site. And since you are using a very old version of X, it would be best to update manually by logging through FTP and do the updates from there.

However, please note that before updating, kindly disable the X - Shortcode plugin since after updating X, Cornerstone will be automatically get installed on the site which replaces the X - Shortcode plugin.

Thanks for your reply. I deactivated all plugins earlier and that didnt help. And there is no time for setting up a staging site for now. Any other ideas?

Funnily enough when I load the new X theme i Live Preview, it shows the unstyled version. Yet, If I click other menu items and visit pages, all looks fine. Activting shows unstyled version again.

Upon testing your site, I do not see any CSS related issues or any other errors like error 500 on your site. Please check the secure note below. Also the menus are functioning properly as well.
