Upgraded from X to Pro, but now visual builder shows no content

I upgraded yesterday to Pro from X. I now see in the Support Forum discussions that say that NONE of the content I had created on pages created with X using Cornerstone can be edited in Pro. In other words, ALL MY PAGES NEED TO BE REBUILT. Is this for real? Why would you do that and not tell people?

Hello @buildingbetterworlds,

Thanks for asking and I am very sorry for the trouble you are facing.

That’s absolutely not the case and I think there is some confusion here. Upon converting from X to Pro Theme, you can edit the pages designed using Cornerstone in Pro Theme. In fact Cornerstone is built right into Pro Theme as a page builder. There is no need to rebuilt all the pages.

However, I hope you followed our X to Pro Theme conversion guide wherein it’s mentioned and suggested to first update X Theme and Cornerstone to the most recent version before converting to Pro Theme. Can you please let us know the version of X Theme and Cornerstone you were using prior converting to Pro Theme? In case you converted directly from a very old version of X and Cornerstone, there might be some compatibility issues resulting pages getting corrupted. I am sharing the link of version compatibility guide and X to Pro Theme conversion guide that you can take a look:

In version compatibility guide you can see the latest version of X Theme (6.0.4) and Cornerstone (3.0.4).

In the mean time, please try out following solutions:

  1. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  2. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  3. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  4. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  5. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.
  • Make sure that you’re running at least PHP v5.6.x or later to avoid any WordPress related incompatibility issues. If you’re not sure what your server configurations and settings are, install a plugin like WP-Serverinfo (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-serverinfo/) and check your server info by head over to Dashboard -> WP Serverinfo area.
  • Check your PHP Max Execution Time and set it for 300 for optimal usage.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.
