Hi there, we are facing the same problem.
Once we try to update the theme and cornerstone the site is breaking. To make sure everything was working correctly we tested on the staging scenario and work without a problem but once we move live it broke again.
Any clues how to solve this?

Based on your description the issue might be related to cache. usually staging enviroments do not have cache and test would explain why the issue happens just on the live site.
Please ask your hosting to flush server cache once you update and also flush the cache of your plugins.
If that does not work, please provide your live site credentials so we can take a closer look.

Thanks for your response, unfortunately after flushing the cache from the server and updating it broke again. The css goes crazy, please see attached screens as a reference.
Any other suggestions?

This has been known to happen when updating from older versions of X and using CloudFlare. Can you disable CloudFlare and let us know how the update goes? You may also need to clear the CloudFlare cache.

We have cleared the server cache, deactivated CloudFlare and directly from our Clouflare the site is not even activated.
We restored the site from one of our working backups but once again after we update the theme it broke.
Any other suggestion?

Can you check to see if CloudFlare has autominification turned on? Can you try turning that off, and clearing the cache one more time?
Let me provide a bit more context. Take a look at this URL:
That file should actually be larger, and it’s closing out abruptly before all the styles are loaded. This is why your site is breaking. X stylesheets are already minified out of the box. We’ve seen issues where CloudFlare’s system tries to minify them again, and it breaks.
