Update Theme Without Losing Work

Hello, I am trying to update my theme without losing the customization I created. I am not sure how to go about do this. Any help?!

Thanks for asking.

Please consider following before updating theme:

1. If you have made any code level changes directly without using child theme then you need to move those changes into child theme. Upon updating those changes won’t be there as old files will get replaced with new ones.
2. It’s a good idea to first test the update on a staging server and then on live website. I suggest you to copy the website on a staging server and update theme and plugins. In case any issue comes up, same can be looked at without affecting the live website.
