Unable to save changes in Pro - Getting "Uh-oh content failed to save" message

We are currently unable to save any changes on only one of our website pages. Each time we try to make an edit using the Pro content builder, we get the message “Uh-oh, content failed to save.”

We’d love any ideas as to why this is happening and what we can do about it. Seems strange that it’s only happening on one of our website pages.

Thanks!

Hi There @cpasquella

Thanks for writing in! First of all, try disabling your 3rd party plugins and see if you’re experiencing a plugin conflict.

If you’re using a child theme, switch to your parent X theme to see if you’re experiencing a conflict with your child theme.

Further, make sure that you’re fully updated including X theme, Cornerstone and other plugins by referring to our latest version numbers here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195). If you see any outdated plugins, make sure to update them accordingly (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62).

Also we do recommend to use PHP v5.6.x or later to avoid incompatibility issues. You can use the following plugin to check your server configurations (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-serverinfo/). If you see that your PHP memory limit is lower than 512MiB, you can refer to the following guide to increase it (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-increasing-php-memory-limit/16935).

Make sure to purge your server cache, if you’re using any caching plugin on your server before testing.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks for these suggestions. We’ve tried them but nothing seems to work. Again, we can’t save changes on only one of our pages which seems strange – everything else works. Any other ideas?

Hi @cpasquella

On this page, please make sure there is no call to a third party script or any custom script is loaded there specifically, if this didn’t help, then please provide us with WordPress Dashboard login details in a “Secure Note” so we can investigate this issue.

Thanks.

Hi @cpasquella

It’s really hard to check all these text element on that page, try to create a template from this page and import it into another testing page, then on that testing page, try to delete sections one by one till you figure out which section/element is causing this issue.

Also, you might need to do the following:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  3. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  4. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  5. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

Thanks.
