Can i trial run the upgrade from x to pro on my staging site before i upgrade the licence Pro ?

Unfortunately, you can’t have a trial. However, what you can do is test the conversion from X Theme to Pro Theme on a staging server. But before that you need to convert licence to Pro Theme.
