Transparent widget area

is it possible to have a transparent widget area as at this site;
https://www.nobledesktop.com/web-development-courses-nyc

and also see what I mean in the pic below;

You can see the light colored background just slides up behind the side navigation box. Would like to achieve that if possible.

Hi @waynepatt58,

Thank you for writing in, for the sticky widget, you can utilize a Sticky Menu on Scroll like a plugin.

For the second part, you can achieve that, by utilizing the lower and upper layer background of the Section (or ROW depend on your setup).

The trick is to have the lower layer as image background and the upper layer as a semi-transparent overlay background color.

You can then apply a small negative top margin to the ROW so the columns will have that overlapping effect to other section.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Thanks very much for the quick response. I have implemented your instructions. But a small issue is that I have a full width page (Blank-no container page) so the section stretches to each edge of the browser window. This creates a problem where I cannot now have a sidebar for a widget. Is it possible to still place a widget sidebar on such a page.

Yes, I know I can change the page to (content left-sidebar right) but then I loose the full width effect for each colored section, so hopefully there is a work around.

Hey @waynepatt58,

Yes, it’s possible to have a sidebar within a Cornerstone built page or content and that is using the Widget Area element. For more details, please see https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/elements-widget-area/10243

Hope that helps.
