Transalation not working

Hi there, tried everything. First the KB about translating, then the article assuming the name is not correct and translated nl_NL.mo file should be x-nl_NL.mo, tried locations, tried translation string and all. Nothingworks. Please help!

It’s about my staging website: www.fysiotherapie.bpr.nu with password for viewing the staging site xplobookings
and then if you go to www.fysiotherapie.bpr.nu?xplobookings-member-category/grotebands/
You’ll notice Catgeory Archive and below you’ll find posts …etc.
I’ve translated the .po and .mo files and added the php thing. Then I changed the name of the po and mo to x-nl_NL also but nothing occurs. HELP.

Note that the name is not x-nl but APEX changes this it is underscoreunderscoreXunderscoreunderscore-nl_NL

Hey @MacMartino,

To troubleshoot this issue, we need to have access to your WordPress admin and FTP first because we could not trace what’s causing the issue by looking in the front-end only. Please provide access in a Secure Note.

No worries. I have logged in to your WordPress admin and saw that you’re using WPML so I would like to ask if you still want to manually translate or use WPML to translate strings in X (recommended). Here’s the instruction or contact WPML support.

I could not access your server so I currently could not check your manual translation (see Secure Note).

Sorry a bit late - did not see your reply sooner.
After I tried the PO way, i tried via WPML string translation. But it has not the text strings ‘Category Archive’ and ‘Below you’ll find posts that…’.
I’m ok with what you recommend WPML. I could also turn it off, as the site is still in one language to this date :wink:

Why could you not access the server? What was the error? BEcause it works with me.

A bit off topic also, but i tried to add a Facebook and Instagram link on a page (see: http://fysiotherapie.bpr.nu/hermes-house-band-nederland/) but the ‘new’ SOCIAL element seems to have only 1 of the social networks. So how could I put a few beside eachother (there must be an easy way i guess)?

Thanks for updating in!

1.) You will need to search for the keyword in your WPML to find it.

2.) The social element will display the icons inline. It will look like it is displayed stacked in Cornerstone. You can check out the test page here: http://fysiotherapie.bpr.nu/x-test/
