The Grid - Twitter API

Hi,

The Grtid has been great, but it’s throwing up the error “Sorry, an error occured from Twitter:
API issue, please try to reload your page and or clear The Grid cache.”

I’ve changed the keys, and even used a new Twitter app. Nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • Pro theme 2.5.5
  • or X theme 6.5.6
  • Cornerstone 3.5.5
  • The Grid 2.7.2

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

_After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.-

I’ve upgraded as far as possible, the latest Grid available to me seems to be v2.6.17 and I’m fairly confident I’m fully validated.

I’m chasing my host to update the PHP, so I can update WP to 5.2.2 - but the Twitter feed was working fine not long ago.

Any help you could provide would be awesome.

I have logged in and checked your grid. I even temporarily deactivated your caching plugin. It seems that there is a problem with the Twitter API. Could you please generate a new Consumer key from Twitter? Create a fresh one and test the grid again. If the new key still does not work, then this could be a connection problem in the plugin.

I tried that before contacting you, to no avail. I’ll try again, with a different Twitter account too.

I am hesitant to uninstall and reinstall The Grid as the site is very dependent on the plug-in.

I am able to try on my test site using THE GRID 2.7.2 and connection is working: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cqjh2LOdsH. We just don’t have control on the content.

There are 2 options for you.
1.) Setup a staging site. Please do the update on this staging site. Try manual update of THE GRID to get the latest version. See this guide.

2.) You can do the manual update on live site, though make sure to save a backup of your entire website. This way you can always go back if something goes wrong.
