I’ve an accordion drop down menu finally working but there’s an issue with the menu completely resetting to collapsed when one navigates to a sub category. I’d prefer the sub categories to remain visible as long as the user remains in the same top category. To be clear - if a top level item is clicked then three sub items appear. If any of the sub items is clicked they all remain available in the menu when the linked page is opened.
Hello James,
Thanks for writing in!
Regretfully the behavior of the navigation layered, navigation collapse and other navigation element will always close the submenu even if one of the submenu items is the current page item. We certainly appreciate the feedback! This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.
Thanks!
Thanks Rue,
I’ve seen this functionality on sites. That’s why I suppose I’d chosen the accordion style menu. I think that behaviour is a subtle but sophisticated aspect that puts a website in the top category of UX. I hope the notion is shared and the item makes it to the upper part of the list!
You’re welcome, James . All submitted issues will be eventually made known to our developers.
