The error “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” appears when clicking on Theme Options within Wordpress Admin - Appearance - X Theme page. I am a complete beginner with a fresh WP + X install. Help appreciated.
Hi there,
Kindly follow the general Troubleshooting steps below:
- Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
- Clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.
- If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
- Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
- Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
- Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to
.htaccess-bak
. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button. - Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.
kindly get back to us with the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.
Thank you.
Thanks for getting back. I have left a secure note with the admin details.
Hi There,
Are you having difficulties to load the Theme Options or you’re having this error inside the theme options ? Upon testing, I was able to load theme options without any errors (check secure note).
Could you please explain this issue further, so that we can look into it.
Thanks!
Hi, I get the error when trying to load Theme Options, after clicking on the button, which I will send together with the resulting URL in a secure note.
Hi There,
Theme options should be accessible through Appearance -> Theme Options section. However I see that if try to load the theme options inside the active theme, it will throw that error.
I will submit this as a issue into our issue tracker for further review.
Thanks!
