Solving jQuery Error

Hi there!
I am encountering some jQuery errors onsite, and I do not not how to resolve them. I am really quite stuck here and any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! Could you please try disabling your ShiftNav Pro plugin and test your site again.

Make sure to purge your server cache if you’re using any caching plugin and also clear your browser cache before testing.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I have disabled the plugin, and some of the errors seem to have disappeared. Thing is I want to be able to use shiftnav, and the jQuery errors were preventing it from functioning correctly.
I had a caching plugin at an earlier stage, but have since deactivated and removed it, since it seemed to be causing all the errors in the first place.
What do you suggest I do next?

Hi There,

Sometimes just deactivating the plugin does not work, please purge the caching first. And purge your optimizer plugin as the issue seems to be coming from the optimize js file (https://prnt.sc/hjltkb).

On other note; please update your X theme to the latest version (5.2.5) to avoid any potential incompatibility issue.

Thanks,

I have deleted the plugin, so how exactly would I do that?

I am also using a child theme, so how would I update the the latest version?

Hi There,

Is this the optimizer plugin that you used ((https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/))? If so, please read the second to the last question in the FAQ section. You might want to contact your hosting support and confirm if they have an internal caching feature running, if it does request to purge it. The site should not have requested this optimize JS file if you had already deleted the plugin.

Leave your child theme as is, you only need to update the parent theme.
