I am asked to update my slider revolution license key to be able to use the templates…
but I thought its part of the x theme package? how can I use the slider revolution templates?

Please be advised that Slider Revolution is a bundled plugin. There will be no license code for the plugin. You do not need to register or activate the plugin. We will be the one whol will provide updates for you. The latest supported version for the theme is 6.1.4. You can check that out in this article:
Since the creators of the plugin launched Slider Revolution 5.0, the have remove the template import. It is now exclusively available if you have purchased a separate license for the plugin. For bundled plugins like what you have do not have any more access to the templates. It is the creators of the plugin who made this change in their policy. We at Themeco do not have any control over this policy change.
