Slider revolution, cant' save, can't update

Hi folks!
I’ve looked in the forum and simply can’t find a solution. (We recently re-purchased X to upgrade from 4.x to 6.x)

The issues are with Slider Revolution.

  1. (on Slider Revolution settings from the Dashboard) It’s at version 5.4.8.3, states that an update to 6.0.9 is available but Can’t update. Under the box, “Plugin Activation” we see a red “Not Activated”.
    Yet, on the X Validation, in the list of extensions we see: Installed & Activated

  2. On a slider, when we try to make changes, the green Save button (top right with an icon of a floppy disk) does nothing at all. So we can’t make changes to our slider.

We don’t have caching plugins.
What are we missing?

Thanks for writing in!

1.) Please be advised that the latest support version of Slider Revolution is 5.4.8.3. You cannot update to the latest version because Slider Revolution 6.x.x is a major release. We are still testing for conflict and incompatibility issues between the plugin and theme. Once we are finished with the testing, it will be available in your automatic updates right in your dashboard.

2.) If the changes, were not saved, there could be a fatal error or a JS error on the page. In most case, JS error can be coming from other plugins. You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If the issue still exist, would you mind providing us access to your site so that we can check your settings? Please create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

You were bang-on! For the sake of helping others, t turns out the offending plugin is TerraClassifieds. I contacted the dev and hopefully they’ll fix the conflict. It’s crippling since we can’t modify our sliders.

Thanks also for the bit about the Rev Slider versions. Happy to hear you’re testing the new version. I’d rather wait for something knowing the risks of issues are diminished :slight_smile:
