How do I specify an alternate sidebar for post pages and post archives?
I need the main sidebar to remain dedicated to something else.
It may or may not be entirely relevant but I have “Content Aware Sidebars” plugin currently installed

You can read the information you need in our Work with Unlimited Sidebars article. That doesn’t take into account the Content Aware Sidebars plugin though so it’s best that you deactivate that plugin as it might conflict with our Unlimited Sidebar Feature.
If you wish to continue using the third-party plugin, please consult with the plugin author on how to use it in themes that has sidebar features also.
