When I conduct a search through the search box, I get a long list of duplicate results. I saw another post where they were told it was a known bug, and they could put some text in their child themes functions.php file.
I dont think I have a child theme so wasn’t sure what to do.

And please check this for child theme installation https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-how-to-setup-child-themes/57. It should be similar to theme installation and activation, then you can edit the functions.php.
