Script Conflicts Error - Slooooow to load and save

Hello Themeco,
Making content changes in the WordPress backend has become a nightmare; it’s extremely slow to load and save, and I keep getting this backend Error Message: “Loading the preview took longer than expected. There may be script conflicts on this page.” I have searched your Knowledge Base and I have deactivated all plugins except for Cornerstone, and I am still often receiving this error message. Please help!!

WordPress Version: 4.8
X Version: 5.1.0
Cornerstone Version: 2.0.5

Much appreciated,

Hi there,

Thank you for writing in. The slow connection of the Cornerstone can have different causes, but the most important one is the PHP memory limit settings.

Kindly contact your hosting service provider and ask them to increase the Memory Limit as per this guide:

https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-customizer/196
(Not Working or Showing a White Screen section.)

If you still have the problem after memory limit increase kindly get back to us with the URL/User/Pass of your Wordpress Dashboard using Secure Note feature of the post to give us a chance of checking the case ourselves.

Thank you.

Hello again,
I updated the memory limit to 512M in the user.ini file in the FTP. I also had GoDaddy replace the core WordPress/website files. The slowness issue in updating content in the backend still remains. Please advise. I will provide the FTP and WP login info in a secure note.

Thank you!
Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

While checking, your site stop loading.

First, please check in with your hosting provider first. Forward that issue. On Cornerstone I am seeing

There’s also mixed content error. We can check that after your site load again.

Can you please keep trying? The connection is sporadic. I am going to try to optimize the images on my end to see if that helps at all, but there seems to be a larger issue? Thank you!

Your site’s slow performance is not caused by Cornerstone but incorrect setup of WordPress and SSL.

I was able to login to your site, checked a page in Cornerstone then went back to the dashboard and it won’t load anymore.

This is not a problem in hosts with good performance. Please see https://xthemetips.com/choose-best-wordpress-host/ for guidance on how to choose hosting.

Thanks.

Can you please check it now? I had GoDaddy look at it. Has the SSL and/or WordPress setup been fixed from what you can see on your end? Thank you for your help!

They’re not fixed. Same as the screenshot previously.

Is this something you could fix in the FTP?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, this is not a matter that we can or allowed to help. It is a server/hosting related issue. The point that I found out is that in the Settings > General the Base URLs are not set to https://, those are set to http:// which is wrong as I can see you have SSL enabled.

Please kindly contact your hosting service provider and ask them to fix that for you.

Thank you.
