How do I activate the revolution slider? Where do I get it? Its not in my wp plugins right now. What exactly does it do?

Revolution Slider is basically a slider plugin that you can use to create sliders that you can add on the pages of your site.

If you have validated your theme installation, you should be able to install Revolution Slider in X/Pro > Validation page.

Ok. I’m using the demo ethos 3. In the demo there’s a looping video and a downward arrow at the very top of the page. Is this built with ‘slider revolution’?
