Recent Post to show from Custom Post Type and Post Category

Is it possible to use the “Recent Posts” shortcode to show the most recent post from either my recipe CPT or the blog category “Musings”? I got the whole site built for a client and ready to launch but then she springs this on me. I am hoping I don’t have to redevelop this main spot on the homepage.

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for writing in, Recent Posts element has the Category option to filter the posts. Showing custom posts type (recipe CPT) is a bit tricky though, you can try following the solution provided on this thread.

I suggest using the Essential Grid instead, it’s more flexible than recent posts shortcode.
