Product Reviews not showing up

I have an e-commerce site (equineoutfitters.biz) and I would like to show product reviews for every product. I noticed that the reviews are only showing up on a couple of products, like this one: https://equineoutfitters.biz/product/chafeless-padded-breakaway-halter/
But not for other products like this one: https://equineoutfitters.biz/product/solo-strengthen-output-lengthen-output-supplement/

They both have “reviews” selected under screen options, and the reviews have been approved. Can you tell me why this is?
Also, I noticed on the Chafeless Padded Breakaway Halter product, I notice that one of the reviews has 5 stars “filled in” and the other reviews have “empty” stars. Why is that?

Hi There @jessparvin

Thanks for writing in! Upon checking, I see that you’re not using the latest version of X theme. You can see the latest version from here (https://theme.co/changelog/) and update accordingly (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62).

Also you can see the latest X theme compatible WooCommerce version from here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195) which is v3.5.1 that you can download it from the following link (https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/advanced/) and update if required.

Once you have the compatible versions, try re-testing your issues again and see if that helps. If you’re still having issues, provide us with your WordPress login credentials in a secure note to check your issue further.

Thanks!

I updated my X theme and have the right Woocommerce version, but its still not working. The “reviews” box just doesn’t show up for most products. will send you my login

Hello @jessparvin,

I have checked the product page and I am seeing the review tab. It displays 3 reviews in it.

After approving any reviews or making any site changes, since you have installed a caching plugin W3 Total Cache, please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I know it is showing up on . that product. That was my initial question. . . Why are reviews showing up on some pages and not others? This page, for example, has reviews but they don’t show up: https://equineoutfitters.biz/product/solo-strengthen-output-lengthen-output-supplement/

And I have been clearing my cache.

Hello @JessParvin,

I have checked your other product page. I edited it and I can see that there is no reviews added on that product page.

Please add a review, saved your changes, clear the cache and test it again.

Yes, there is a review on that product page (https://equineoutfitters.biz/product/solo-strengthen-output-lengthen-output-supplement/). . . It has been there all along. I am attaching a screen shot of it. But no its not showing up. Is it in the wrong place?

Hi,

You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me since the Reviews are showing up for some products but not others. . . I tried it anyway. Did not make a difference.

Hello @JessParvin,

I have logged in again to your site and I finally cracked this issue. It turns out that the reviews were disabled individually. To make sure that the reviews will display, please edit the product and in your product data section, go to the Advanced section as shown below:

To make them visible, comments must be enabled in ‘Quick Edit’ menu on Products tab. “Bulk Edit” is a quick way to enable comments for all posts at once. Also check the “Allow others to post comments on new posts” options in options->discussion, it applies for future posts. WooCommerce option “Allow review only to “verified owners”” means that only logged in users that bought the product can leave comments.

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you! That makes sense now.

One more thing though. . . On the product page it shows stars next to the review that are not “filled in” but I have seen filled in (black) stars on other product pages. Is there an option to leave a star rating when someone writes a review?

Hello @jessparvin,

Yes there is a star rating that you can click when you write a review.

You must click your star rating first before writing in review. Once the review is displayed, the star rating you’ve made will also display.

Hope this helps.
