I am new to using Cornerstone and my problem is this:
When I try to make some changes on a page, it does not appear live in the preview area. I need to save and update before I can see the changes I’ve made. What am I doing wrong?

First of all, we are sorry for our late reply. We are experiencing traffic regarding the threads after the new release of the theme. It will get back to normal in a week or 2.
Would you please kindly make sure that you do not use any kind of cache plugin, also, I suggest that you deactivate all plugins except Cornerstone and test the case. If it is working that way please activate plugins one by one to find the problematic one.
