PRO: Blog overview within container

Hi there,

To illustrate what I’m going on about, and what I would like to achieve, please have a look at website built with the PRO theme, Quailsprings.

I would like have an overview of blog entries in one container in a global block, and an overview of upcoming events in another container, like they do. Do you have any idea how it was done, and how I could create something similar?

Thanks, and best regards

Harald

Hi Harald,

I have just checked the site that you link and it seems that they are using a third party plugin to display the events and the recent news.

For the events, they used this: http://iplusstd.com/item/eventBookingPro/example/eventslist/

And for the recent news: http://vineyardtheatre.org/wp-content/plugins/special-recent-posts-pro-2.4.9/documentation/srp-manual.html

One of the bundled plugins that come with X is The Modern Event Calendar which you might want to check: http://demo.theme.co/modern-events-calendar/

As for the recent post, can use the Recent Post element but it would require some customization for it to look the same way as the site you referenced.

Hope this helps you get started.

Hi Jade,

Thanks a lot! Yes, it does get me started!

Can I please ask a perhaps very simple question? If I create a page via PRO, how can I add a “standard” sidebar, and make the page/sidebar accept widgets?

Thanks again for your help!

Harald

Hey Harald,

There are 2 methods.

  1. You can add a Widget Area anywhere within the builders using the Widget Area element. For more details, please see https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/elements-widget-area/10243
  2. Use a page template with sidebar. For more details, please see the Situational Page Meta Options section here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/meta-options-pages/144

Hope that helps.
