Pro and WPML translations

Are still issues when translating cornerstone pages with WPML’s Classic Translation Editor ??

I recently did a single-page website, translated well using the string translation, but now I’m adding a video in the original language page (english), and when I update other languages all the layout gets broken.

You can see English version with the recently added video: http://www.aquapolwaterproofing.com/

and now the broken french version when I updated it with the “Translation Editor” (just copied the new field, the video, and “Save and close”): http://www.aquapolwaterproofing.com/fr/

Hi @llribas,

Try to translate your page using the flags at the lower right when editing your page.

Check video below.

Hope that helps

So then the WPML translation editor is still not available to use to translate Cornerstone pages? It’s annoying, we are waiting for long months for this, and still not working.

I have several licences for X and Pro, and usually I need multilingual. Do I need to work with another theme/builder?

Hi @llribas,

I don’t have any issues translating them, may I see a video recording of how you’re translating them? And please provide your admin login credentials so we could directly check it. You can provide them in the secure note.

For the meantime, please check this, https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpml-issue/48740/3.

Thanks!

Hello,
I see the video you suggested in https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpml-issue/48740/3, but here you are using manual translation, not the WPML Translation Editor!
So, the way you suggest is not very friendly, because I need to do all the layout and design modifications for every language, manually!
The Translation Editor brings you a way to just do design and layout arrengements in the main language, and you just provide the translations for texts in the other languages, but the new design or modifications in the page builder is applied in automatic way.

What I did:

  1. Made the page in the main language (english).
  2. Translated it using the “translation editor” to spanish and french. It worked fine this time.
  3. Added a video for english version (using cornerstone).
  4. Translated the French version because it need update since there is a new element, the video (using the “translation editor”).

And then the french page gets broken:
English: http://www.aquapolwaterproofing.com/
French: http://www.aquapolwaterproofing.com/fr/
Spanish (still not updated with the video, so still not broken): http://www.aquapolwaterproofing.com/es/

Hi llribas,

I understand that the WPML translator thing can be an easier approach, but unfortunately, there is no compatibility with that feature at the time being. The reason is it needs fundamental changes of both how Cornerstone/Pro saves the meta information and how the WPML detects the content of the page.

At the moment I do not have any solutions for you except to use the Flags that my colleague already mentioned. The thing is that you can use the flag inside the editor then you can decide to create the translated page from scratch or duplicate that. By duplicating you will have the same layout and can translate.

I do understand that if you want to change the layout later, you will need to do it for all languages.

Thank you for your understanding.

Ok.
And do you plan to support “WPML Translation Editor” in the future?
I need to know it, just to keep using your themes or not.

Hello @llribas,

This has been added as a feature request. Our developers have already made aware of this so that it could be implemented in the future versions of Cornerstone/Pro Editor.

Thank you for your understanding.
