Do you mean the portfolio page of the site you have linked?
If so, you could either use The Grid or the Essential Grid plugin to do this which come bundled with X. You can then add it on the page you create as the portfoilio page.

As you can see, i’ve now created the grid.
However i want the each link page from the grid to look like this (http://www.cgdm.eu/project/chopped-the-quays-shopping-centre-newry/) , i understand how to do this. However, could you tell me what slider i could use?

You can use the Cornerstone Slider element. Simply drag it to your column and add images as slide items.
