Hi there for the interaction for portfolio items is there a way to insert a logo/image for each item that appears as an overlay about the portfolio item text? I am assuming there is because for each portfolio item I have the word “IMAGE” on each overlay?

Regretfully, no. But, you can try using one of the bundled grid plugins to display your portfolio as they allow the creation of custom skins. Please see the items below:
