Portfolio Items Customization not working

On my portfolio items pages, I added some CSS to make it look like my content was on a white paper in the middle of the screen. If I click 'customize in X Theme options (in Wordpress), the papers appear exactly how they’re supposed to (see screenshot 1). However, when I view my website in a normal browser, the white page background is gone and my content is no longer centered (see screenshot 2).

Why does it look fine when I go to customize the page but not when I view my website normally?

Please advise.

Thanks

Hi There,

It might be the caching issue. Could you please try clearing all the server/plugin caches and browser cache then check again:

Please also follow up the steps below:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. Go to X > Settings and click on the Clear Style Cache button.
  3. If you’re using a CDN(ex: CloudFlare), please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services. For the CloudFlare you also need to follow the steps below besides the developer mode: https://xthemetips.com/using-cloudflare-rocket-loader-with-x-pro-and-x5/928/1
  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

Hey Thai, thanks for the reply. I did step one and two but the issue still remains. I tried clearing the CDN’s cache but I got this error message: “Failed to purge: CloudFlare cache: Could not route to /zones/purge_cache, perhaps your object identifier is invalid?, No route for that URI.”

Do you think that could be causing the issue?

Hey Eric,

This could be a result of broken CSS and/or HTML in the Global CSS or in the builder. Try pasting your custom CSS code in a tool like http://csslint.net/ to check for errors. Also check your content for broken HTML.

And, please disconnect your site from Cloudflare temporarily to ensure it’s not the cause of this issue.

Thanks.
