I run recent posts with shortcode w/excerpts - on Integrity Cornerstone. Is there an easier way to do this other then recent-post shortcodes? All I want to do is stack them by category, with author, date & excerpt.

The only other way would be to use the Archive pages to display related posts.
For example:
http://www.palmspringslife.com/tag/hotel-restaurants/
So using Categories or Tags to filter them and display them in their assigned metric.
