One-Page Menu scrolling scrolls too far (to nearly third past the section)?

My one-page website is coming along nicely, I feel like I’m nearly done.

But my menu scroll does so whereby the upper part of the section scrolled to is not visible. So it scrolls just a bit too much down.

How I can control / fix this please ?

Ideally, I’d like it to scroll to the top edge of the section being scrolled to.

Hey @JezUK,

It looks like you have customized the topbar and made it sticky. The topbar is not including in the jump link offset so it scrolls to the wrong position.

Regretfully, we do not have support for customizations. We can’t fix issues arising from customizations nor enhance them.

You would need to upgrade to Pro so because the sticky bars’ height in Pro are taken into account for the offset.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi Christian,

If I upgrade to Pro, will that break my website ?

Or will my website remain intact - I’m not a professional (as you can tell !) so I don’t want to upgrade to Pro and then find I cannot make my way through the Pro version in order to have to fix a new bunch of things I didn’t previously have.

Your website will be intact but you need to rebuild your header using the Pro Header Builder. For usage instructions, please see https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/pro-header-and-footer-builder-introduction/103

If you’re not going to upgrade to Pro, I’d recommend that you remove the custom code that makes the Topbar sticky to avoid complications.

Thanks.

Thanks Christian.

Sounds like I ought to bite the bullet and upgrade to Pro.

But you do understand that I want that Topbar to remain sticky, I don’t like hiding my phone and email details - I feel those need to be always visible.

Yes, I understand. But, sticking the Topbar is not a feature offered in X also and it’s beyond the scope of our support to provide customization for that.

Without custom coding, it’s also only possible in Pro because the height of sticky bars are taken into account for the offset.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

What I’m saying is that if I stay with X, then I would rather have the Topbar sticky than not.

I think what you’re saying, if I’ve understood you correctly, is that if I want to achieve both objectives, then I have no choice but to go to Pro.

But if I want to stay with X and have the scroll go to where I want it, I have to unstick the Topbar. That’s my understanding from you.

Hi @JezUK,

Yes, you have to go for Pro since staying on X requires customization just to make the top bar sticky and in sync with the menu header.

If you wish to stay with X then I recommend contacting a developer to create a script that will make the topbar sticky while syncing to the menu. It’s not an X feature so it has to be done that way if you prefer to stay on X.

Thanks!

Hi,

I’ve upgraded my Theme X to Pro, and I’d love to know how to get this to work ?

My website is https://exteriorrenderings.co.uk

Basically, I’d like to know how to control where the scroll goes to - I’m guessing mine don’t work for any link I give (including the Home link) because of the heights of the two Bars at the very top ?

Many thanks.

PS - I’ve watched https://youtu.be/JH1TwA6pztw that was suggested by your support on another Thread asking this same question, but it still doesn’t work for me. I’ve followed this Youtube precisely.

I’ve answered the same question in your other thread: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/keeping-the-topbar-to-remain-static-at-very-top-and-not-hide-during-scrolling/51757/19

Thanks.
