Nonprofit headers

Good morning!

I am attempting to use the nonprofit template but after 3 fresh installs with no alterations made whatsoever, the headers for each section are not being shown when attempting to edit with Cornerstone. This is odd because you can see them perfectly when viewing the page in the Customize menu. Any ideas as to why this may be happening and how I can customize these items? Thanks!

Hello There,

Please follow up the steps below:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. Go to X > Settings and click on the Clear Style Cache button.
  3. If you’re using a CDN(ex: CloudFlare), please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services. For the CloudFlare you also need to follow the steps below besides the developer mode: https://xthemetips.com/using-cloudflare-rocket-loader-with-x-pro-and-x5/928/1
  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  5. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  7. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

I’m working my through these suggestions and had no luck on 1-4 but as a novice user I’m having trouble completing steps 5, 6, and 7.

Hi There,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials(by clicking on the Secure Note button at the bottom) so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

  • Link login to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

Thanks.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! I have logged in to your site and I can confirm that the issue exist. This is a known issue being caused by the <hr> tag added to the headline text.

Once you remove the <hr> tag, the headline will appear in the preview. You can always use the skeleton mode when editing for faster response and easy access of all the elements in the preview area. This is also helpful especially if one of the sections or elements is not visible or hidden in selected screen size or you may have applied visibility options to a section of element.

You may remove the <hr> tag if you want to get rid of the line right below the headlines.

Hope this helps.

This worked perfectly - thanks so much!

You’re welcome!
We’re glad we were able to help you out.
