No Footer and Menu Not Displaying Properly on Posts and Sidebar pages

Hello,

The site I’m working with does not seem to be displaying my footer and the menu is not functioning properly on pages set to the sidebar template, which includes blog/posts.

Here is an example of what the page menu and footer should look like:

Here is an example of a blog post:

Please note difference in the menu appearance and lack of footer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! The issue is because of your rev slider shortcode added in a text widget for your sidebar. The problem is that the slider indicated in your shortcode does not exist. This is evident in the “Record not found” text in the sidebar at the moment. Please remove the text widget or at least make sure that you are inserting the correct shortcode and test your site again.

Please let us know how it goes.

 Thanks, RueNel! You rock!

You are most welcome!

Actually, RueNel…

I noticed that removing that Revolution Slider widget makes all the sliders (not many, but one on the home page) disappear.

Seems to work if I leave it in there and point it to a valid slider, but I’d prefer to get rid of it in the sidebar if possible.

For example, my home page at http://comdoc.wpengine.com no longer displays my Revolution Slider after removing that widget from the sidebar.

Hello There,

A post page and a normal page or your homepage is different. The post page have a sidebar because it follows the global layout settings in X > Theme Options > Layout & Design > Content Layout. If you want the single blog post to be fullwidth, you must set the settings to “Fullwidth”.

Most of your pages are using a Blank - No Container page templates. You can find out more about the page templates you can use in theme by checking it out here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/features-page-templates/50/1

With regards with your revolution slider in the sidebar which has cause the broken page, please provide us access so that we can investigate.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks, Ruenel!

I understand the differences in the page layout templates. My apologies, as I do not think I am doing a good enough job in explaining what the issue at hand is.

On my site, I currently have several pages (all are set to Blank - No Container) using a Revolution Slider as the ‘header’ set in the page layout options for “Slider: Under Masthead”.

I originally reported issues with my Sidebar layout, which you helped resolve by noticing I was pointing to a non-existent slider within my Slider Revolution Widget settings.

After removing that Slider Revolution widget from my sidebar, I noticed that all of the sliders on my site that were site that were set as header (“Slider: Under Masthead”) within the Blank - No Container layout were gone.

I can make the sliders re-appear by adding a Slider Revolution widget back to the sidebar, but I don’t really want to do this if I don’t have to.

Hope that clarifies, as I do not think the fault lies in my understanding of the page layouts.

Maybe this will help:

Use the home page (http://comdoc.wpengine.com) for reference

Currently, the sliders are working as intended because I went back and made a ‘dummy’ Revolution Slider and added the widget accordingly to my sidebar.

If you were to remove that Revolution Slider widget from the sidebar, all the sliders set as headers will not appear.

Hello There,

I have logged in again and checked your revolution slider settings.
It turns out that your JS settings needs to be turned “ON”.

I went ahead and resolved the issue. Please check your site now.

Ah! Thanks, RueNel! Completely forgot I had toggled that.

On behalf of my colleague, you’re welcome. Cheers!
