New problems after update with Firefox

Hi helper’s,

unfortunately there are problems with the presentation in firefox again after the update.
This time not only in the backend, but also in the page output.

Several pictures are missing. The picture of the CD on the start page and some pictures on the actual band page. You can reach them by clicking on the text “Weiter zur Rockwärts Webseite”.

Please compare the representation between Firefox and Chrome.

Greetings
Coco

Hi Coco,

Thank you for reaching out to us. It looks like a third party plugin conflict, can you please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

if this doesn’t help then you can check for the following too:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. Make sure to clear all caches including your browser’s cache.

  3. Remove custom CSS, JavaScript and deactivate your child theme and switch to parent theme (take a complete backup first).

Let us know how it goes!

Hi Nabeel,

thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately there are no measures I can take.
I don’t use any plug-ins except Envira Galery full version.

I already wrote it in my last thread:
There are more and more and bigger problems using Firefox.
In the past they were only in the backend, now also in the frontend.
I don’t see it as my job to fix your bugs. I am not able to do that!
You apparently don’t test with Firefox and my pages are not displayed cleanly.

So there is only one way out - the use of themes that work reliably.
And there is more than enough of it.
I am already writing the sixth thread after an update and subsequent massive problems in Firefox (four of them still in the old forum)

Will any of you please come back, or can I hope for no more help?

Greetings
Coco

Hi Coco,

It’s not because of the update or bugs, it’s due to existing optimization especially with Pagespeed (which probably hosting’s optimization) plus incorrect file format.

To explain this further, please access the image URL in the secure note on both Chrome and Firefox. It’s image URL from your site and you can pick that up using any browser developer’s inspector.

You’ll notice that the image renders okay on chrome, but it’s not rendering on Firefox because the optimized image has .webp extension. And if you’ll check this, https://fileinfo.com/extension/webp. It’s a file type or image type specifically made by Google and for Chrome.

https://*****/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/xCD-Slider05.jpg.pagespeed.ic.MTdhlchtF_.webp

WEBP files are typically created when a Chrome user downloads an image from the web browser by dragging and dropping it on the desktop or right-clicking the image and saving it in the WebP format. If you come across a WEBP file you can open it in the Chrome or Opera web browsers or with a graphics editor, such as Pixelmator, Image Magick, IrfanView, or XnView.

Please upload images with a proper format that works across different browsers.

Hope this helps.
