New Cornerstone update 2.1.3 breaks the page editor

I have this update:
Cornerstone
You have version 2.0.6 installed. Update to 2.1.3. View version 2.1.3 details.
Compatibility with WordPress 4.8.2: Unknown
Update Available

X-THEME:
Installed Version
5.2.2

WordPress 4.8.2

Every time I try to update Cornerstone, the page editor never loads, it just spins the page load icon. I keep having to revert updates so I can edit pages.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! Could you please disable your Cornerstone plugin and then delete it from the plugins section. Then head over to X -> Overview section and wait for few seconds to automatically install the latest version of the plugin. Then purge your server cache if you’re using any caching plugins and also clear your browser cache before testing Cornerstone editor.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

That seems to have worked! It’s a little slow to load, but I am now able to access the editor.

Thanks for your help!

Glad to hear it’s sorted.

Cheers!

Hi there,

I’m having the same issue @stackify had, and I’m using the same version of Cornerstone, X-Theme, and Wordpress. I tried what @mldarshana recommended, and it didn’t work for me. Do you have any other ideas? My site is balancedbites.com. I’ll send you the credentials in a secure note.

Hi There @dianesanfilippo

I was able to edit your pages using Cornerstone (https://snag.gy/9cbiZ2.jpg). Could you please try clearing your browser cache and test? If not, provide us with the URL to a specific page that you’re having issues.

Thanks!

Hi there, it’s this one specifically that isn’t working: https://balancedbites.com/podcast-topics-archive-2/ but after clearing my browser cache, I still can’t edit any of the pages I’ve built in cornerstone using the cornerstone page editor.

Hello all - I, too, am experiencing the same issue that @dianesanfilippo & @stackify are experiencing. I followed the steps that @mldarshana outlined, but the results are the same. The specific webpage I’m attempting to edit is canvas45.com and I will forward the credentials in a secure note.

Hi @dianesanfilippo and @sheilaintc,

I’ve removed your login credentials in this thread because the original poster could see it. Please update your credentials and post them in a separate thread. There are a lot of factors that could cause Cornerstone loading issue and re-installing Cornerstone and clearing caches are just a few of the possible solutions.

Please check for the following also:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. Clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

  6. Contact your hosting provider to increase your allocated memory and max execution time to the maximum.

If the solutions I’ve outlined above doesn’t help, please give us WP Admin and cPanel credentials in your own separate thread as the cause could be unique for each of you.

Thanks.

Thanks @christian_y - I deactivated my cache and optimization plugins and the issue has been resolved. Much appreciated!

You’re welcome.
