Nav-Menu http500 error, now site won't load at all

I found an article with the same Nav-Menu error I was getting, Went into the WP-config.php file to make the changes suggested. Now my site won’t load at all. Need some help.

Hello Jeff,

Would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look and fix the issue?

To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

  • FTP Hostname
  • FTP Username
  • FTP Password

Thank you.

Login info included in Secure not

Found an error in the wp-config.php file. Was at the beginning in an area I didn’t edit (or didn’t think I did). Fixed that and now back to trying to figure out how to get to my menu items.

Hello Jeff,

The given WP credentials is not working for us. It seems that the username is invalid.
The FTP details were good though and we already have logged in. We need to access your WP to check your Appearance > Menus.

Regards.

Updated login info

Hi Jeff,

I was able to login and go to Appearance > Menus without issues

Is that the page you are having an issue with?

One thing I notice is you have an old version of Wordpress, please update it to the latest version

Wordpress Version 5.0.3

Make sure to backup your site before updating.

Thanks

Thanks for the help - updated WP version - site working properly now

Hello Jeff,

In case you will get the error 500 again, You can login through FTP then edit the wp-config.php file and find the line: define( 'WP_DEBUG', false );. Set it to true then save the file. Log back in the admin area and you should be able to see some more error information when you redo the steps you are having issues with.

Cheers!
