More update Issues

  1. The widget bar won’t open
  2. Mobile menu won’t open
  3. Accordion (new not classic) stuck open
  4. Can’t add or edit page CSS if page has classic content

The last item has been an ongoing issue. I’ve started to remove all Classic content and the site is starting to function normally again.

I’m on PHP 7.1; I don’t cache the site; browsers have been cleared. Plugins that aren’t X have been turned off.

Just dated to 6.0.4 and 1) and 2) are fixed. Haven’t tested 3 yet. 4) seems to be a ongoing issue. However, I’d like to know if I can start using classic content again with custom page CSS. At the moment, It won’t save.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! it’s good to know that updating the site resolves some of your issue. I have checked your site and there is a JS error on the page. This could be the reason why custom page css is not saving. I can see that you have inserted invalid JS code code in Theme Options custom JS and Cornerstone’s custom JS section. Please remove these JS code that you have inserted and test your site again.

I know that you want to insert Facebook Pixel Code but you have inserted it in correctly. To insert it in your site, please check this thread instead: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/adding-tracking-codes-and-scripts-to-functions-php/17671/2, https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/how-to-add-code-below-head-on-all-pages-for-facebook-pixels/14713/6, https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/facebook-pixel-code/5549/5

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I’ve removed the pixel code. I didn’t put it there. I’m still having the same issue - tested on The Grid classic. If I add it to a page, I can’t change that page’s CSS - changes won’t save. My site is now free of classic elements and it’s working smoothly. I would like the additional functionally back though.

Hello There,

The classic elements and the legacy shortcode generator can be enabled by going to X > Settings.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I’ve followed your instructions and also removed all global JS code; page JS code; deactivated the vCita plugin. Still not working. If I add the Grid classic, I can’t save changes to the local CSS file. Remove the Gird, it works as normal. It’s not a major issue now because I’ve rebuilt the whole site using v2 elements. I would however like to get the Grid working again. I’ve set up a test page with classic and new elements. It worked briefly with a few lines of CSS then stopped. I haven’t tried other classic elements.

Hi there,

I wonder if you have Yoast plugin as we have reports that the Yoast plugin causes the issue of saving the CSS code and we already added this to our issue tracker.

If not please follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  4. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  5. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

I do have Yoast and it does appear to be the cause of the problem with classic elements. It’s not something I can leave off unfortunately so I guess I’ll have to wait for a fix. I’ll keep an eye on the change logs. Thanks as always for the support.

Glad that we could be of a help. Yes, good idea and FYI here is the link to the changelog:

Thank you.
