Modern Events Calendar Update to 4.2.2?

Hello Team,

My client’s site uses the bundled MEC plugin and lately it is doing some weird things. Before I start a support topic on that, I first want to start by checking on an available update for MEC.

Per this thread, the current version supported by X is 4.1.0 and it says an update is being worked on: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/modern-events-calendar-no-longer-updates/57945

However per the X Troubleshooting Version Compatability article, the current supported version is 4.2.2:
Modern Events Calendar: | Latest Supported Version: 4.2.2 |

This would indicate that there has been an update released, but I can find no mention of this in the current changelog: https://theme.co/changelog/

I do see in the change log that there is a new update for X, but that it has to be manually updated. Right? Is there an updated version of MEC bundled in with the X Theme v. 6.5.6 update?

Please let me know what’s going on here.

Thanks for writing in! Your referenced thread link is posted 14 days ago and now the latest version of Modern Events Calendar plugin is v4.2.2 as mentioned on our version information guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195).

Our changelog (https://theme.co/changelog/) only includes bug fixes, new feature updates related to X/Pro and Cornerstone mainly, so you did not find any information related to Modern Events Calendar plugin currently.

You can provide more information about the issues that you’re experiencing with Modern Events Calendar plugin, so that we should be able to assist you accordingly.

Can you provide me with any information as to why the X v. 6.5.6 update has to be updated manually when the theme has previously been able to be updated from the Updates section of the dashboard? Will you be returning to automated updates via the Wordpress dashboard in the future? That is what our license is supposed to allow us to do. Also can you provide a link with instructions for manually updating the correct way?

Hi Rayna,

Our product releases are done in phases. Once we have an update, first it will be released to a beta testing group to identify possible issues. Then there will be a release for our members to test it through manual updates.

Once our development team addresses most of the common issues, then an automatic updates will be available some time after the initial release. This process helps us provide better support and catch potential lingering issues that were not uncovered in beta testing.
