Mobile menu not working / Theme breaks when I update

Hi There

I have a 2 fold issue that I’d appreciate your help with.

The mobile menu has stopped working on https://www.danschlesingerart.com as well as a few other of our X sites.

However I am aware we are on an older version of the theme, but we have been reluctant to update the theme as the site breaks, see here on staging - http://dansart.staging.wpengine.com - although it does fix the mobile menu issue.

Please can you advise on the best way to resolve.

Thanks

Mark

Hi There,

On this site, you’ve updated the Cornerstone plugin to the latest version but NOT updated X theme yet. Please update it to the latest as well.

On this wesite http://dansart.staging.wpengine.com the X theme & Cornerstone plugin are outdated too.

The update guide:

The changelog:

Hope it helps

Hi There, yes I mentioned this in my post ie “…but we have been reluctant to update the theme as the site breaks”. Can you advise?

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

What we’re trying to say is that, if you update either X theme, you will need to update Cornerstone plugin as well or vise versa.

I have checked your referenced site and I see that you have updated Cornerstone plugin to the latest version (v3.3.3). Latest Cornerstone plugin compatible X theme version is v6.3.3 as you can see here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/release-notes-pro-2-3-x-6-3-cornerstone-3-3/44607). So in your case, you will need to update X theme as well, in order to avoid incompatibility issues.

You can follow our update guide above, share by @thai.

If you’re using a caching plugin, you need to purge server cache and also clear browser cache before testing for changes.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hi @thai

Thanks for that, we’ve updated to latest x and fixed the layout issues however we have tried the same thing with another client (on staging at the moment) and the menu does not seem to be fixed: http://pagetiger.staging.wpengine.com.

There are clearly a lot of layout issues we need to resolve too.

Please can you take a look.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Mark,

It looks like you’ve done some customization to the header. Please switch to the parent theme to see if this is a result of customization. Also remove custom CSS and JavaScript where you’ve added them.

If you’ve overridden some templates especially the header PHP templates, you need to compare the code with the latest version and update the parts accordingly.

If switching the the parent theme and if there are no custom codes in your site, please give us access to the staging site’s WordPress Admin and FTP.

For the rest of the issues, would you mind updating to the latest version and also see the current known issues in our latest Release Notes at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/release-notes-pro-2-3-x-6-3-cornerstone-3-3/44607

Thanks.

Thanks @christian_y, will take a look !
