I installed an SSL certificate but was still getting “insecure/ mixed content” warnings and not seeing a padlock in my url. When I ran a test to see why, it pointed to an image with http prefix (called “border3.jpg”). I searched my site for this image but couldn’t find it, cleared my cache, tried several plugins (including SSL insecure content fixer and WP migrate DB) but still got the warning. So I disabled plugins and found that Cornerstone was causing the problem. However, I need to use Cornerstone. How can I fix this?
The site is: https://akronsocietyofartists.org
Hi There @jessparvin
Thanks for writing in! Upon testing your issue further, I see that your referenced image path is different from your live site.
http://akronsocietyofartists.com/NEWSite/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/border3.jpg
.
Please check the background images of your page and re-upload an image or else you need to properly migrate your site again by following our migration guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-content-builder-migration/126).
If you’re still having issues, provide us with your WordPress login credentials in a secure note to check your issue further.
Thanks!
I have re-uploaded the background images several times. . . It’s just the “border” image at the top of most pages. It seems like Cornerstone has stored an old version of this image, even though I’ve deleted it and cleared the cache. As far as the migration goes, should I migrate from http://akronsocietyofartists.com/NEWSite/wp-content/ to https://akronsocietyofartists.com/wp-content/
?
I would be glad to share login credentials with you, but do not see the “secure note” button anywhere
Hi @jessparvin,
The border3.jpg
image is just one of the mixed content issue, but this border3.jpg
image does not exist anymore, please navigate to Theme Options > Layout and Design and update/reset the Background Image.
Now with the mixed content issue, I see there are images that were not changed to https
for example that slider on the top of your homepage, its still HTTP
Also, another one on your Widgets > Footer 2, you can go edit those elements manually, but that might be too tedious.
If you view-source your site and find http://akronsocietyofartists.com/NEWSite
you’ll see that there are entries of this URL, that means your first migration http://akronsocietyofartists.com/NEWSite
to http://akronsocietyofartists.com
did not completely work.
Now you installed SSL, so all your links should point to https://akronsocietyofartists.com
, but if you view-source your page again and find http://akronsocietyofartists.com
you can still see entries of it, even your own, this also means that your SSL migration method did not completely work.
In the meantime please Clear and deactivate your caching plugins and also the Jetpack, and then follow the solution I provided here.
Find http://akronsocietyofartists.com/NEWSite
and Replace it with https://akronsocietyofartists.org
Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!
