Major issues with X / Pro licensing and cornerstone preview

Hello,

We’ve been having a terrible time trying to implement our update using this theme. We’re hoping these issues can be resolved asap as we’re now late with our update.

Update: This is unbelievably frustrating. Attempted twice now to change the theme from X to Pro and the entire site breaks. Only way to get it back is to enter my plesk control panel and change the theme back to x from there. Fonts are not showing as they should when the layout is working at all and there are classic elements (headlines, sliders, video links, Team slider from EA addons etc etc) that appear fine in cornerstone but are broken when the page goes live.

We’d like to know if it’s possible to get a refund for this theme. We’ve been fighting with it for some time now and nothing seems to work as it should and support is seemingly scant.

Staging site is at dev.badpixel.ca

Thanks,

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

We are really sorry that you are facing issue with the theme. The issue you have described is not a usual issue that everyone faces. It happens due to several reasons, some time it due to plugin conflict and some time it due to the cache system and server configuration.

We will definitely help you to figure out what could be the cause of an issue, before that we need few details from your side. Login details for your site and FTP access for the installation. Please provide them with a secure note.
The site URL you have sent us is not accessible to us as it asking for login.

Thanks

Hi there,

We’re having some issues with our Menu. The Hamburger menu in the mobile versions doesn’t work at all, and we’re getting some strange behaviours when attempting to align and customize the Header (mainly the typeface controls). Despite our numerous attempts to change and override, the font in the menu refuses to change to the typeface we’ve assigned (quicksand).

Also, the site still completely breaks when we attempt to implement the Pro theme to get a little more control over the Header design. We find when we do this, and after resetting the theme to X from the back end in our Plesk control panel, a bunch of the content that was populated goes missing and needs to be re-implemented. For this reason, we’ve pretty much abandoned Pro as an option.

Additionally, we’re seeing very sketchy performance with the revolution slider. We have one slider on our main page that refuses to load when accessing the site for the first time. The slider appears to only load on a reload of the page…

Lastly, just joined a thread that was talking to V2 text elements and Yoast incompatibility. I posted Here:

As we’re looking into this more, it seems that this problem is very inconsistent. Our Home page registers 500 words but our services page which has been almost completely populated, only registers as having 4 words and thus we’re not getting any useful data from Yoast. Both pages use v2 text elements but only one is registering as having content. We cannot locate the source of the issue. The page that is not registering (services) is a duplicate of the home page so this makes no sense.

Hello there,

Again, we’re sorry to hear your frustation. For your inconvenience, we’ve just updated your X theme to the latest version, X 6.0.4. Please see full details of our new releases here in our changelog: https://theme.co/changelog/

Upon update, hamburger menu now is working both on desktop/mobile. Almost all of the problems you’ve stated can be consolidated to server performance and incorrect installation of your theme and Cornerstone.

I’ve also noticed your Customizer is slowly loading. I suggest you contact your hosting provider to increase your PHP memory limit, and do this for you. Here’s our guide to help you:

After that, you can now try upgrading to Pro.

  1. X To Pro Conversion
  2. Setup - Updating Your Themes and Plugins

Let us know how it goes. If you still have problems, can you share us your FTP login details in a Secure Note so we can follow up your case?

Thank you. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the tips. Most of the small stuff seems to be sorted now (thank you).

We’ve upped the memory limit to PHP but we’re still having the issues with connectivity with Yoast and the Revolution slider is still not loading on the page.

This is a major issue that we can’t seem to sort. We’ve tried rebuilding the slider from scratch, and also rebuilding the section of the page that contains the slider. Any idea how to get this to display consistently? The slider never loads on first load of the page (either on mobile or on desktop). The images are optimized and are pretty slim.

One thing we noticed is if you reload the page from any point other than the top of the page, the slider will load. If you reload from the top of the page, it disapears.

Thanks,

Hello there,

Your Customizer is now loading smoothly. I’ve just cleared your style cache and also updated your navigation font to Quicksand.

Are you referring to the slider in your News page? http://dev.badpixel.ca/news/

Before we proceed, we’re sorry to inform you that a lot of these changes/requests should be checked/done by your developer. Some of these things are already out of our scope.

An advantage of having one is that they can double-check and setup these configurations for you. If you don’t know any developer, I suggest you try the guys here: https://xthemeusers.com/professionals/

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
