.maintenance File

Hi there!

I was wondering about my site when I update anything it just goes into maintenance mode and I’ve to delete the .maintenance file to get that back. What could be the issue? Server or what?

Thanks in advance!

Hi There,

Usually, the maintenance disappears fast. If it doesn´t delete it.

But it is nothing to be worried about.

Hope it helps!

Hey, Joao!

Yeah! In most cases that do. But I was working on one site where that get stuck in that mode even passed more than 15 to 20 minutes. What could that be the server side issue?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Hi There,

Might be the themes/plugins were broken while you updated them.

It could be the server side issues(permission, timeout, …)

Regards!

No, that’s not the case!

Hi again,

This issue has two main causes:

  1. You allowed update requests to pile up and attempted to update several things at once.
  2. The theme or plugin(s) you attempted to update is not compatible with your version of WordPress.

Make sure you update plugins one by one to avoid this issue and always check compatibility of plugins or theme before updating, see here https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195

Hope this helps!
