Mailchimp header code error

Hi,
I tried to add the MailChimp header code in the functions.php file, which I understood how to do from another question here in the forum. The problem is when I update MailChimp it says “we couldn’t detect your website”. Is it something wrong with the code, how I’ve injected it or is it simply something completely else?

I checked your site and there is no active child theme, that code should be added within child theme’s functions.php

Please install a child theme and activate it, then implement that code.
